SHEEP DOG IN WOLFHOUND CLOTHING

Sooooo, Abigeal is not an Irish Wolfhound 

as I was so very sure she was.

She was a rescue dog 

so we don't know much about her background.

She looks exactly like a miniature Irish Wolfhound (half the size).

I have even had strangers come up to me 

and comment how she is an Irish Wolfhound.

I was super curious what else she was mixed with

and also thought it would help understand her personality a bit

so decided to do a DNA test on her.

I ordered a kit which came in the mail 

and then took two swap samples from her gums

and sent it back in the mail to the lab.

A few weeks later, 

I got the results via email.

Much to my surprise,

One parent is an Old English Sheepdog and the other is a Golden retriever and Samoyed mix.

I was so sure she was an Irish Wolfhound mix

but if you look at pictures of Sheepdogs that have been shaved 

then she really looks like one.

Her under coat has golden colors and her tail is curved up 

which come from the golden retriever.

I don't see any Samoyed in her at all.

The test shows results all the way up to her Great Grandparents....
